Hi! I've been blogging at www.mstaylorgoestowashington.blogspot.com for a while, but I decided it might be easier to go ahead and create a real website. I'm hoping this will be a place you can go to find a quick idea for what to wear tomorrow or to get some ideas for adding something new if, like me, you sometimes get in outfit ruts. I'm pretty thrifty/cheap, so I hope you'll find realistic options for your own wardrobe as I let you into my thought process for putting together my own outfits.
Since it's that wonderful time of year known as winter break, I thought I'd put up a few pictures of things I've been wearing while not at school. If you're like me, it's super easy to let your wardrobe be overtaken with work clothes and then realize you have nothing to wear when you don't want to look like a teacher. Here are a few outfits I put together for my first few days of break (when I haven't spent most of the day wearing workout clothes, telling myself I'll go to the gym soon).
Here's the first post. It's a pretty easy outfit to throw on and go.
I'm a bit in love with the parts of the 90s that are coming back, and the green/navy plaid is right up there with my favorites. Here's the link to the shirt. It's on final sale.
It's been fun to wear, but beware that it does have some challenges because of where the waist is. You'll probably want a bit of a high waist jean to go with it. And speaking of jeans, I've finally found a pair that I love. These are from Banana Republic, and they are delightfully stretchy. Here's the link to the exact pair. I've tried a few other pairs from Banana, and I haven't been quite as happy, but these are delightful.
The shoes are actually my favorite part of the outfit. A few years ago, my mom wanted ankle boots for her birthday, and when we went shopping, my dad generously decided that it should be a mother/daughter shoe party, so he bought me a pair too! And I love them. I don't think you can see from this picture, but they have a bit of lace around the edges which, I would argue, makes them a bit girly. Sadly, since they are a few years old, there isn't anything too similar, but here is a ridiculous option I would probably choose if we were going shopping today.
Okay--I would probably have more to say, but I'm off to go to the gym and then to lunch.
I'm a teacher looking to help other teachers feel confident and comfortable in their classrooms.
